I am suspecting that the urethral pain/burning issue I am having is due to the high level of Lactobacillus found in my urine culture (50,000 colonies per ML), and supposedly baking soda is a good remedy for this... after doing some research on that.
So, my question is... is this safe to drink while I have cdiff? and taking the vanco? Could this cause some weird reaction?
Also, could this adversely effect the good bacteria/lactobacilli left that I have going in my gut?
I am assuming, if that much is being seen my in urine and it can cause some issues, like this, that I should lessen or stay away from lactobacillus containing probiotics. Sadly, kefir. Or maybe its something completely else and the lacto just shows up,simply and is totally non-pathogenic in my case and is just from OVER consumption of it. I have been drinking over 60 ounces of kefir per day until Friday. The doctor really had no opinion on this. So, no clue now, and hardly a darn thing on the internet about this, except when Lactobacillus concerns the vaginal tract.
So, would it be ok to try baking soda/water mix to drink and see if that helps alkalinize my urine and lessen this annoying burning? Also, my Ph level is a bit low... at exactly 5.0 according to the urine test at the doc's. Also, lactobacillus overgrowth can cause that...
