There is a way to protect yourself, as long as 1) you take every precation to be extremely clean before having oral sex (also would be best if done in the beginning of a "session" I would think, just to be on the safest side)
2) Google "Glyde dams", or check them out on amazon.com, "Sheer Glyde Dam 12s -- Assorted". These are a type of "female condom" but would work good for oral sex too (moreso than say the female condoms on the market today).
As far as your b/f, I'm not sure, but I would think if you both showered and made sure everything was very very clean before you started (and did the oral sex in the beginning of the session, as mentioned before) I think with him wearing a condom and you wearing a "female condom" oral sex would probably be ok. But you'd definitely want to make sure you took every conceivable precaution (i.e. having the oral sex first), just to be on the safe side. I think I'd also have a discussion with my doctor about the Glyde dams too, and see what he/she thinks of that idea.
I'm no doctor, but if I was even THINKING of having oral sex I'd definitely look into the female condoms (not the one's that go inside of you, but the Glyde Dam type - which is kind of like a piece of saran wrap actually).
Good luck with that! This disease/infection sure isn't "sexually friendly" as I'm sure you've read on this board......take care :)
