Off to Yet ANOTHER DOCTOR!!!!!!!!
Well my fat foot is still fat and still no answers. I am now going once again to another (different) neurologist this coming Wednesday and hope to get some form of answer or suggestion as to where to go next. Internist, ortho, podiatrist are all stumped for answers. I am so tired of not being able to wear a shoe I COULD SCREAM and this has been the case since February! Now, during all of this I have been having (or so I thought, continual allergy/bronichal problems and just found out that it was the BP medicine causing all my symptoms. BP meds are now changed and coughing has stopped but now BP is all over the map! Geez- I just wish something would go right once in awhile! Tomorrow I go in for a BP reading with 2 weeks of this new medication and hope maybe at least this will stay the same. Well guys, sometimes you just gotta look on the bright side of things..............THROUGH ALL THE CLOUDS!!!!!!!!

Cindy,
You have been through so much!!! More doctors, ugh! You have had waaay more than your share. I just wish I could fix it all for you. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed, for your foot, for your BP, for your cdiff, for everything. It is definitely time for you to get some good medical news. Hang in there. Hugs!

I send lots of hugs as well Cindy. I hope they (our fine Gods of medicine) find what the problem is and make sure they FIX it this time. Take care and good luck. Keep us posted as to results.
Marcia, it's called gestational diabetes (when contracted during pregnancy). I know this because that is when my diabetes first appeared, although it runs in my family so it was no surprise to me.

One of my "gifts that keeps on giving" from C. diff. is osteoporosis. A doc. discovered it on an xray several years ago. (By the time it's visible on X-ray, 30% of bone loss has occurred.) I have a family history also but an xray a year or so before C. diff. didn't show any bone loss. Evidently, a long bout with C. diff. causes malabsorption of minerals including calcium.
Had a foot problem several weeks ago which finally resolved but thought I broke my wrist Thursday night -- no real reason -- it just "snapped." Saw PA (no docs. available on Friday) & altho. the Xray didn't show a break, it showed extreme osteoporosis. Wrist is better, however. Get final X-ray results today & another results for UT for blood which I had postponed. Haven't seen osteo. specialist in 2 yrs. but have an appointment late this month. Lucky me! I am on Actonel & exercise frequently so don't know what else is there left to do.
Aren't we all afraid to ask, "What next?"
Wish I'd never heard of C. diff. It's been part of my life since l979 when my son had it. I am tired.
Today, my 89-yr.-old mother and & have dentist appointments. Just one fun thing after another. Fortunately, I'm going to a "make over," style show, & dinner tonight. Hope one of my bones doesn't snap on the way to the event! Perhaps I'll come home looking two or three months younger!

Bobbie,
Gosh, I am really sorry to hear that you have more medical problems. I surely hope your wrist isn't broken, that the blood is nothing, that your (and your mom's) dental appointments go smoothly. Between you and Cindy, you've seen enough docs for probably 100 lifetimes! My mom has osteoporosis, and my periods stopped early (at age 44, when my daughter was killed), so I know I'm at risk for that, but didn't realize that cdiff adds to my risk. Ugh. As you say, we don't want to know what's next. I hope they make you over tonight and fix all your problems too! Hugs.

Well today went okay at internist and they are leaving me on the same BP medicine at least. He says that the additional swelling in my other ankle (on my good foot) might go away after a few weeks and for me to cut out ALL salt. If not then we may consider changing the BP medicine again but, since I am doing so well and feeling so much better on this one he hates to change it unless forced. So now I just have to wait for the next doc on Wednesday to see what happens with the "fat foot story!" Thanks for all the good wishes.........this site is all that keeps me going at times!

Went to neurologist today and got the heebie jeebies scared out of me. He sent me to hospital STAT for sonogram of veins and arteries all the way to my heart from my foot! At one point on the bad leg from the knee to the thigh the techs could not get reading and after 2 more techs came in and had the same thing happen they decided to call in head of the department. I asked them what this meant and was told if the head of dept could not get it then my doctor would be called and I WOULD NOT be going home but straight to hospital. GEEZ........scared me to death! Well the head of dept had me stand up a couple of times and position me differently and it was okay. They told me the radiologist would have to read it but they did not see anything themselves that was alarming. So now THE WAIT.............at least this neurologist is determined to find the problem and he was very upset the other 3 doctors have let it go on so long. I think maybe now something will be done. If I do not hear from him (something in this test not exactly right) I go back on the 19th of July and then he decides what else to do. He mentioned bone scan and a test where they go into my groin and into the veins...........GEEZ lets hope that isn't necessary as he said it depended on this test today and what it shows. I am so tired, frustrated and ready to RETIRE my medical profession as patient!

No break in wrist --but X-ray showed severe osteoporosis & degeneration in one joint. Hard to type -- using my rt. hand mostly. Yesterday, I had a kidney sonogram for continued bloodin urine -- no results yet. Next week is appointment with osteo doc. Perhaps she can find me a new set of bones! Dentist's appoinment went okay. Cindy & I should earn a prize for most docs/dentists seen this month.
If I weren't so depressed, I would be excited. A guy 'hit" on me (I think) for the first time in years. I forced myself to go to aerobics (wearing my wrist brace) & went to Osco afterwards. This guy came up & asked me what I did to keep so fit. He said (& I quote), "You have the body of a 35 year old.") Then he told me about his life & that he was 54. I didn't tell him how old I am or that my body is really a mess. Why spoil a compliment!

Bobbie,
LOL! What a great compliment, and what good timing, for that to happen now, when you've been having so much lousy stuff going on. Enjoy!
I saw the mother of one of my son's friends from kindergarten recently, for the first time in decades, and she said, you look great, you're so thin. I thought, why go there, so I just said thanks, and changed the subject. Ho!
