Hello all!
I’m preparing for my FMT via colonoscopy which is coming up in 4 days. I’ve got 2 questions:
1. During the “liquid diet” phase of the prep, what did you all eat (or drink I should say). Everything listed on the prep info provided by the doctor is full of sugar. I have tried to came as close to completely eliminating sugar as I can the past several weeks. I rarely even drink Gatorade. So far all I have on hand is bone broth. Maybe some Almond milk? The prep paperwork even suggests coffee! Which I haven’t had in quite some time, although I miss it terribly!
2. After FMT it has been suggested to me by some of you guys to help the FMT thrive with fiber. Should this be done through a fiber supplement or through food. Which supplements and/or foods seem to work well?
Thanks again for the continued support and helpful information!

Chicken broth and beef broth. Is there a sugar free gelatin? Call the doctor and ask. I am sure they have guidelines for diabetics.

Thanks all. I’m not diabetic. I’m only avoiding sugar because of the cdiff.
So I noticed the paper said “clear” broth. Would bone broth be considered clear? Also I noticed it said no milk. Would that include Almond milk?

Bone broth is a clear liquid (depends on the way you are cooking it).

If you cant see through it it's not clear!
If you had almond milk (and told them) they might postpone the FMT.
Do as they say, its only for 1 day.
To be honest you wont want anything other than clear liquid once you start the prep!
You will be very glad you followed the clear liquid rule before you started.
It's a "where the heck is that coming from" and "will it ever stop" day.

Re: Colonoscopy prep/liquid diet
Ha! Yeah sounds like good times. Lol.
I’ll stay away from the bone broth then. It’s pretty dark and definitely not see through. Also, no almond milk. What stinks is the procedure is set for 1:30 pm on Thursday, but they have me scheduled to start the clear liquid diet Wednesday morning. So it’s more like a day and a half. I’ll survive, especially if it puts me on the track to being free of cdiff. Thanks again!

Thanks Ril! I’m actually enjoying my last solid meal right now, before the liquid diet tomorrow. I’m glad to know that I can drink the bone broth tomorrow. Just wasn’t sure because it’s kind of cloudy and not transparent.
