Hi all,
This is my 2nd FMT but 4th colonoscopy. This time, they prescribed the miralax/dulcolax prep. Previously I've taken prepopik but had a lot of rectal pain.
Is the miralax prep efficient? Any experiences with it?

Re: FMT colon prep
I just did the miralax/duclolax prep for a colonoscopy last month. However, it was just for testing, not an FMT. I have to say this is the second time that I have done this prep, and both times it has worked like a charm. It is quite bearable considering the quantity that you have to drink, but all you taste is the gatorade. The last glass was tough to get down, but it's just because of the quantity. I had some cramping from the dulcolax, but it didn't last long and a heating pad helped. I cleaned out very quickly and was able to sleep the night before, which was also a plus. My prep was 2 dulcolax at noon, start the miralax/gatorade drink at 3, which was done by 5pm, and then 2 more dulcolax at 6pm. I stopped going altogether by around 10pm. Just have plenty of baby wipes. Witch hazel wipes and Balneol can be helpful as well. I didn't have any rectal pain - just irritation from all the going. Again, this was for just a regular colonoscopy test and not an FMT, but I'm assuming that the preps are the same. Good luck to you.

My husband had a colonoscopy and did that prep and it worked fine.

Started my prep but so far very nauseous. I didn't feel this way until well into my last preps. Kind of worries me considering I have a long way to go! I will check back in after completed to update on how it went.

Re: FMT colon prep
Well I've had 3 of the 4 glasses and have no idea how I'm going to down another glass! I have been super nauseous throughout the night. I don't know if it's because it's my 2nd colon prep in a month or the prep itself or nerves. But I hate it!
I was able to sleep for about 1 1/2 hours so that was nice. Better than last time. Praying I can get thru this asap already:...

The last glass is always the hardest. I'm sure your nerves aren't helping. Try not to think too much about everything. Focus on the fact that this is going to be your cure.

Re: FMT colon prep
Congratulations:-) in some ways the prep is the hardest part. For me, since I have so much anxiety, I was afraid it wouldn't work, I wouldn't be able to drink all of it, I'd vomit it up...anything that would make it to where they couldn't do the FMT if something went wrong.
Best of luck to you with your procedure, and will be sending good vibes your way :-)

Your lucky, the prep I did a few weeks ago was 3L so 12 glasses over 3 hours!
