Bad Birthday Decisions

Postby justme » Thu Feb 02, 2017 10:52 pm

My closest girlfriend and I always celebrate our birthdays with lunch at a favorite restaurant. Since this is my 73rd birthday and feeling really lucky to still be alive after all my close calls, I threw caution to the wind. I indulged in eating many things that I know are going to cause major IBS, but I was willing to risk it. I get home, brush my teeth, gargle and suddenly I have this sharp pain in my jaw. I ate so much and talked so much that my TMJ flared up. My husband and I were going to have a nice dinner out, but I think something soft and easy to chew is going to be a better option. But . . at least I'm still here, in reasonably good health, and lucky to have a wonderful family and many good friends. My best wishes go out to all of you on this board who have stood by me during some pretty dark days. Thank you and aloha to all.
Anne

Happy Bday, Anne. I just turned 76. We are probably the two "0ldest Broads on the Board."

You are a pleasure to have on the site.

Agree with Rita, Anne. Sometimes "a girl has to do,what a girl wants to do."

I used to live on coffee. But after c diff and acid reflux - hiatal hernia -
in 1993, I seldom drank it without a problem. Even decaf coffee has acid. I finally found one that is "deacidified." I can tolerate one cup and it makes my mornings so much better.

Guess we have to keep experimenting.
