My story
Well this is my first post. In October 2012 I had my appendix out. Whilst in hospital I was given many antibiotics including a 10 day course once I was home. Two week later in the 29th October 3012 I suffered diahorea, fever severe stomach cramps. I went to my GP and they ordered a stool same which came back positive for cdiff. I was commenced on 7 days of flagyl. Symptoms did ease but never really disappeared. I went back to my GP and he prescribed vanco. I was so sick I went back to hospital and they told me to stop vanco after 4 days as my stool sample came up negative for cdiff and I was sent home after a week of being rehydrated and given a good dose if anti nausea drugs. 3 weeks later I was still unwell. My GP ordered another stool sample which came back positive. I was put on 16 days if vanco. Felt really good and finished my course in Christmas Eve. By New Year's Eve my symptoms returned, so I went back again to my GP who prescribed vanco again plus flagyl to be taken at the same time. So I have now finished combo of flagyl and vanco yesterday and now I nervously wait. I eat yogurt every day, plus take probiotics and oregano oil. I gave not worked for 3 months now and am desperate to return to work.

Update
Well I relapsed 4 days later. I got into see an infectious disease specialist who has placed me on a vanco taper. Was feeling a lot better however the nausea comes back now and then and I'm finding it hard to find foods that don't make me feel sick. I'm heading into my fourth month of dealing with this demon bug and feeling quite down, when will I have my life back?

Re: My story
Update- well my cdiff test came back neg whilst I was one vanco tablet a day. My daughter has had gastro so now I'm thinking I may have had gastro. So now I'm tapering back down to one tablet a day and then Ill stop and wait. I've forgotten how full doses of vanco can make me feel. Feeling a little blah and fatigued!

Update July 2013
Well I had FMT done 5 days ago. Feeling ok. Had a couple of really good days but woke this morning with nausea. They've told me at the Sydney clinic that the first couple of weeks will be a little rocky. So this is where I'm at. I get tested on the 10th August so fingers crossed for a negative cdiff test.

Update December 2013
Well I've been cdiff free for 5 months now. Feeling great. Have gained weight and apart from a couple of food in tolerances. I'm good. Fmt was the best thing I ever did!
