Took me more than a year to be able to eat what I wanted. Imagine my surprise when I could eat lettuce w/o problems! I started out slowly. I actually can tolerate foods/beverages now I couldn't prior to C-Diff and I honestly believe it's the probiotics. I eat lots of raw veggies and fruits now, and never thought I'd be able to again. I'm LUCKY!

I stay on the "C" side rather than the "D", but I've been like this most my life.

As far as the spasms - it's only been in the past several months that those have really calmed down. Mine weren't painful, just spasms I felt, and not just in my intestines. Got C-Diff in 2/08 - off vanco 4/08.

It all takes time, and stay mentally and physically healthy with exercise when possible. People so understimate the benefit it brings!!!

Thanks for the responses. I'm trying to hang in there. I do have days of C, but lately it kind of goes back and forth between C and D. I have read this is typical of IBS. My doctor doesn't want to treat with AB for SIBO and I would prefer not to do this either. If it gets really bad, then I guess it will be Xifaxan or Flagyl. I am continuing with the probiotics as well. Just found out I am vitamin D deficient. I was using a sublingual spray, that obviously didn't do anything. Bought some drops to put into juice or food. Hope those work better. Still can't tolerate vitamins in pill form.

Karen - I'm so glad you are doing better. Think of you often!
