Can someone explain what Bentyl does?

I was given that YEARS ago for IBS...didn't make much of a difference for me at that time....so I discontinued taking it. BUT after this c.diff aftermath, it might do a lot of good!

I like bentyl. I take it at night and it helps with relaxing your intestines.

I think it comes in 10 and 20 mg doses. I don't take it regularly butit has helped a bit when I did. It makes you drowsy.

I used Bentyl when I had C-diff. It slows down the contractions in your colon making cramps easier to bear. Since it slows down the motiltiy in your colon, some Dr.'s OK it with C-diff and others don't. Check with yours first. I never had a problem but had to take it at night due to the fact that it made me sleepy. I took the 10mg capsules.
