Night Sweats

Postby MelanieW » Tue May 11, 2010 7:54 am

Question. I have been off the vanco for 3 weeks now and all of my tests have come back negative for c.diff. The last 2 nights I have awakened with sweating. It is not hot in the house and my husband isn't hot at all. Has anyone else had night sweats after c.diff was gone?

Yes, and it scared me, bad!
I have small boobs, and I would wake up with sweat in between them. Which didn't make sense to me because I never sweat there, because I'm small!
Anyway, my chest & neck would be sweaty, then when I would get out of bed, I would get really cold.
This happened right after I finished my course of Metronidazole, and it lasted on & off for about 2 months.
I dont know if its just the c diff infection leaving the body, or what. Then I thought, perhaps it's horomones. The Metronidazole(Generic Flagyl) threw off my menstrual cycle as well.

I just wanted to add that my house isnt hot either. I would check on my Husband to see if he was sweating, and he was always nice & cool.

i had night sweats throughout c-diff and continued to get them every night for months after. Im now 6 months off vanco and still get the sweats from time to time along with other symptoms too. my menstrual cycle has also been knocked out but i believe from the c-diff infection and not meds. I strongly believe that it all takes time. We are all in a rush to get well (me included) but all i can do is take one day at a time and and hope that time will be a healer. Its been a year now for me since i started my battle with c-diff and there were lots of times when we all thought i would not make it but i was here to see my daughters 1st birthday and am just grateful for that. TAKE EACH DAY AT A TIME X

I also had night sweats during my c. diff. battle, but I later thought that it was related to post-partum depression. If you got c. diff. post-partum like I did, I guess you may be getting a double dose of these hormone problems! I will add that the post-partum was much milder with my 2nd child without the c. diff.

Ditto on night sweats while I was on meds and due to my well documented anxiety.

LOL, I touched under his neck, under his side, his chest, and under his legs. No sweat. He was completely out, and had no clue I was checking him...I sound nuts don't I? LOL

I had night sweats before treatment. My cycles have been messed up since c-diff too. I thought I was perimenopausal. But it started months ago, right around the time my D started.

LOL Jennifer! You aren't nuts! My husband laughed at me because I drew a circle around my area of pain on my tummy w/an ink pen to show to the doc the next day because the pain was coming/going....LOL Feeling like death can make us do some amazing things! :-)
