Can Flu Shots Cause C-Diff?

Postby Kathy George » Tue Sep 01, 2009 7:22 am

With the flu season approaching, I was wondering if anyone knows if the vaccine for the Swine Flu can cause C-Diff?

I personally wouldn't think so. Vaccines ussually involve injecting a certain part of the virus(not the actual virus) so that your body can grow immunity to it. It may make you feel icky as your body grows immunity to it for a day but shouldn't cause a relapse. I would think it is more likely to relapse not getting the vaccine and taking antivirals as they have been shown to sometimes cause cdiff.
