Eyelid ointment antibiotic

Eyelid ointment antibiotic

Hi All

I have an infection in my upper eyelid and the doctor wants me to use antibiotic ointment. 3 times/day for two weeks.

Is ointment safe to take as far as the C Diff?
Male 54, contracted C-Diff on Feb 5, 2020, diagnosed on March 2nd, Took Flagyl for 8 days, Vanco for 10 days, relapsed 5 weeks post-Vanco. finished Dificid Taper on June 20 relapsed two weeks later, had the FMT on July 14th, 2020

I have used it more than once with no problem. As long as it does not have clindamycin. I have used erythromycin and others. Other posters have used antibiotic eye drops with no issues.

I have also used Erythromycin eye ointment with no issues.

Both last year and this year, I agree with Beth. Would not use Clindamycin of any type.
