cortisone shot and C Diff

cortisone shot and C Diff

Hi All, it has been a while since I posted here. I have issues with my knee and the dr is suggesting a cortisone shot. Can cortisone shot cause C Diff relapse or affect the gut
Male 54, contracted C-Diff on Feb 5, 2020, diagnosed on March 2nd, Took Flagyl for 8 days, Vanco for 10 days, relapsed 5 weeks post-Vanco. finished Dificid Taper on June 20 relapsed two weeks later, had the FMT on July 14th, 2020

A single cortisone shot is local and not absorbed systemically. It does not go through the GI system. Unfortunately I have had several (LOL) for sports related issues and never had a problem. It is safe. If you still have a question ask your dr.
