Hi,
This is very promising; actually it's not a new treatment approach and has been used in Eastern Europe for a long time...It would be awesome if this became available to us!

Hi PamO,
Actually you are telling me very important information since I am Bulgarian - I live in Eastern Europe, do you now in which country exactly there is availability of this treatment? Thank you so much !
Warm Regards,
Steffi

It's not available.
100 years ago scientists were looking for a cure for bacterial infections.
Eastern Europe (USSR areas) concentrated on phages while the west concentrated on discovering antibiotics.
Fleming discovered pennicilin and it became the treatment of choice for wartime injuries that became infected.
Eastern scientists stopped investigating phages because the Western antibiotics did the job.
Move on 50 years and there's bacteria that wants to survive and becomes resistant to antibiotics.
C. Diff was relatively harmless in those days but when it learnt to survive antibiotics while it's neighbours in our guts were being destroyed it multiplied and mutated into a pathogen.
WE turned it into a disease!!
Now antibiotics are failing the world is turning back to investigating phages.
Problem is they are living viruses that seek out and infect bacteria with a "disease" or eat the bacteria as food!
Remember the little old woman who swallowed a spider to catch a fly?

This phages study has been going on for a few years at least because I, too, read about it and asked my GI. They are doing experiments, but it not likely to be out as a treatment any time soon in the US.
