Understanding test results

Postby Lime1114 » Thu Sep 10, 2020 8:57 am

My doctor is not very helpful in explaining what my test results mean. I was tested “positive” for toxigenic c diff via PCR. I then tested “presumptive negative” for epidemiologic marker 027-nap1-b1. Does anyone have any idea what this all means? I know i had c diff toxins via the PCR but what does that negative test indicate? Thank you!!

theres many types of c.diff.
some harmless and some that are very bad.

027-nap1-b1 is the worst of the lot and you dont have the marker for it so thats good ( sort of).
Tests dont say if you need treating.
only symptoms indicate if treatment is needed.
