Post treatment starting date

Postby Ali-Mar » Sun May 24, 2020 3:49 pm

Based on the CDC website most relapses are within the 8 weeks post treatment. When you are on a taper, does the post treatment starts when you complete your regular dose? In my case 10-days Dificid dose? Or your post treatment starts when you take the last pill ( completing the taper)?

I would think is post the 10-days regular dose. As the taper takes additional 33 days! That is in addition to the 10-day regular dose
Male 54, contracted C-Diff on Feb 5, 2020, diagnosed on March 2nd, Took Flagyl for 8 days, Vanco for 10 days, relapsed 5 weeks post-Vanco. finished Dificid Taper on June 20 relapsed two weeks later, had the FMT on July 14th, 2020
