Treatment options if FMT fails? Experiences with c diff being this stubborn?

What are some treatment options if FMT were to fail? This is just purely for my curiosity. I've tried metronidazole but couldn't handle it, Dificid is too expensive to obtain. Vancomycin did for the first two recurrences, except for the third one three different tapering doses of the Vanco didn't work. I'm currently on 250mg 4x daily until I can get the FMT (nothing scheduled yet because of COVID-19). Anyone else have any experiences with c diff being this stubborn?

Yes, sometimes it can be very difficult to get rid of. In 2014-2015 I had 5 relapses on flagyl, 3 rounds of Vanco the last one for 3 month taper and then onto Dificid. Back then the FDA had placed a warning on FMT's and I had a 4 month wait to see a GI who would do one.
I failed the first round of DIficid, but then went on a long taper and got rid of it.

I would consider a Dificid taper, I did not think I would get rid of it but I did. Dificid has a site and you can get a discount, check it out. It is very expensive, but a FMT is also expensive. In the end, I had that appt and did not need the FMT.

5 years later, I am once again fighting this after taking anitbiotics for an infection. This time my Infectious Disease specialist went directly to a Dificid taper due to my history.
