Has anyone dealt with reactive arthritis after cdiff? If so, what were your symptoms and how long did it last?

I know I’m a bit late on this question but hopefully it still helps….

I developed reactive arthritis 6 years ago while finishing up a course of Dificid for my 2nd relapse. Woke up with a sore throbbing finger and by the end of the day had intense pain alternating between multiple joints in my upper body. Was immediately placed on a course of steroids- significantly helped but with pain persisting a week or two later, was told I would need to go on daily anti-rheumatic meds. Luckily, I was able to get in with a specialist @ Hospital for Special Surgery before starting and she shared my concerns in going on an immunosuppressant drug while dealing with ongoing infections & was able to shed a little more light on reactive arthritis in general (which is difficult because of how rare it is!). In her experience, people with the HLA-B27 marker are more prone to RA and are more likely to experience lasting symptoms. I fortunately did not have this marker. We opted for an extended course of steroids and by the time I was done tapering (about 2 months later?), my symptoms were gone. It was also mentioned that the presentation in my upper body was less common. Thankfully, I did not have a relapse with my next episode of c. diff- made sure I was tested and on meds immediately after symptoms reappeared and went back to Vanco… perhaps one of these factors helped prevent another flare.
