Adderall cause a relapse?
Hi. I had cdiff last August on and off through Oct. I've been fine since but I started with diarrhea Friday and I'm wondering if taking Adderall could cause a relapse?

Re: Adderall cause a relapse?
Since Adderall isn't an antibiotic, the chances of it triggering a relapse are about zero. Numerous drugs may cause non-C. diff diarrhea as a side effect. I don't know if Adderall is one of them -- that information is better obtainable through your pharmacist and/or the instructions on the box the drug came in (or as an insert inside the box) and/or on the internet. Diarrhea as a drug side-effect is exceedingly common -- often the body acclimates to the drug after awhile and this side effect will disappear. But C. diff and non-C. diff diarrhea aren't the same phenomenon.
If your illness was preceded by use of a medication, e.g., an antibiotic, please fill out an FDA Adverse Event Report at http://www.fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch/default.htm

Thank you. It's that dumb anxiety /PTSD from it. I'm going to ride it out.

Just out of curiosity , for what reason are you taking Adderall?
