Calcium's role in clearing up CDI

Postby CindyP » Fri Jun 28, 2019 1:58 pm

Found this today - thought it was very interesting, and might explain why some people have had a lot of luck clearing up their CDI with Kefir taken concurrently with Vancomycin.

In essence, the theory is that the calcium present in the colon facilitates all-at-once germination of spores, so that the antibiotic can then kill the vegetative C Diff.
