Can antibiotic eye drops cause a relapse?
Hi everyone so I’ve been using an antibiotic eye drop called tobramycin and today I’ve had some diarrhea and now now it the evening and I just ate and getting cramping and rumbling in my lower right side like when I had C diff someone pls help I’ve use it may 5 times in the 3 days I’ve ask two pharmacist and they said no chance but I’m very nervous!! Some pls help me resolve this...

They should not cause a relapse, but anything is possible. I would ask your GI.

Thanks for the reply Beth, I also have one more question I recentaly spent a few hours in two different hospital is it possible to if picked up a different strain and can C diff just become active without antibiotics?

I agree, check with your GI. I used ERYC eye ointment and had not issues

I think it is possible to pick up a new strain at a hospital. I got c difficile about a week after I sat with my mom in ER for hours. Coincidence? Relapse? I don't really know, but I had not tested positive in years before that.

If you look at statistics c.diff is no more common in hospital than it is in the community.
It's only that people in hospital are already sick and more at risk!
Hospitals SHOULD be cleaner and the bug should be removed , but they are not!
c.diff is much more common on your shoes and doorstep (25%) than it is in hospitals (17%)
