Can stool samples detect cdiff from jejunum or duodenum

Postby kenvh » Tue Mar 13, 2018 4:52 pm

Hi

I wonder if stool sample can detect cdiff toxins from the duodenum or jejunum. That high.
Normally its presented in colon. But sometimes cdiff happens high up small intestine.
Does anyone here tested positive and had it in jejunum or even higher up? I dont find much research on this topic.

Also... how long does a sample stay valid for detecting the toxin? Does it last a full day in room temp? Or does it needs refridgirated in 2 hours?
