Because I have severe balance issues (I'm 84) I use a walker . . . not just when leaving the car but also here in the house 24/7. I also sit on a stool when showering.
Last week, when finished showering I looked down and saw poop fluid running toward the drain. I had no idea what or how? And when I stood - turned and looked - the shower stool seat was covered with poop.
Stool stool.
I was devastated - had NO idea that happened nor how/why.
My lovely bride of nearly 64 years soaked the area with bleach after I hosed it down.
This is Thurs . . . Tues was one of those 5 diaper days. I hate them. When finished with my final-of-the-day going potty I looked down to discover poop on the tiled floor.
Again . . . I have no idea how that happened - I had stepped in it - it was all over the bottom of my slippers.
I was devastated - sick - and went to bed at 6:45 pm.
There ain't nothing nice nor pretty about C Diff.
I am sick and weak and wondering what next week will bring.

It's time to call your doctor. If you are losing bowel control it needs to be addressed especially if you are currently being treated for CDIFF. This may require a medication change if things have not improved.
Give your GI a call and review just what you have written here
I hope things improve for you soon

Re: Weakly and Weekly
There can be varying degrees of bowel incontinence, especially in older people, that aren't related to C. diff. Though I agree that a doctor should be consulted, you may want to get the opinion of a colorectal specialist before subjecting yourself to colonoscopy/FMT.
If your illness was preceded by use of a medication, e.g., an antibiotic, please fill out an FDA Adverse Event Report at http://www.fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch/default.htm

Have you been diagnosed with Cdiff after a test , or you just assume it is Cdiff because you are dealing with bowel incontinence? Also , if you have been diagnosed with Cdiff are you taking any treatment for it?
I do not want you to take it as a offence but at this age is not unusual to have incontinence.

Re: Weakly and Weekly
I am seeing two ID docs - they both agree I still have C Diff - thus the follow-up, recommended appointment with the closest (to me) GI doc to consider the colonoscopy/FMT combo. I will know more Tuesday afternoon (3/13) - just glad it's not a Friday. 8-)
Believe me . . . with all I've been through I'm not easily offended, i.e., six brain surgeries in the 1980's - next month we'll celebrate my being 20 year prostate cancer free.
I am thankful.

Are you on medication for c diff now? If you have FMT, generally you have to take an antibiotic for c diff before anyway.
