Dental

Postby Sez123** » Fri Feb 16, 2018 8:30 pm

Hi all

Following my tooth extraction I continue to have Pain and I fear the extraction didn’t resolve the underlying infection

Which antis are routinely prescribed for dental stuff??

Which would be safer for c diff??

I’ve just come off keflex for mastitis

I’m sick with worry at potentially going on antis again for now dental woes

I would make sure you SEE the dentist who did the extraction. There can be other reasons for pain and I would want an Xray to determine if there were any infection. It can take time to heal. As far as antibiotics, under CDI we have a list of "lower offenders" the issue becomes what type of infection.
Before jumping into this, see the dentist for a follow up and verify with an X ray AND exam.
Wishing you the best!

Thank nanci

I’m hoping the pain is due to the traumatic extraction I had
She couldn’t get the tooth out easily

Yes I definately will have her review me if it doesn’t subside

Just don’t want more antis as I’m asking for trouble really

Thank you for responding
Xx

If you go to your dentist they will almost certainly prescribe broad spectrum antibiotics "just in case".
If they had to dig the tooth out it's not unusual to have pain for a few days.
