there's many current members and hundreds of recent posts.
Case histories section is a diary forum and no replies are allowed so I have moved your post to general discussion.

Hello Dawn L and Welcome to the site Please read the first thread for all new posters

Sorry you had to find us and all that you have been through. Two rounds of flagyl we don't often see, if the first fails its onto Vancomycin. Discuss with your ID, if symptoms persist you may consider going directly to a Dificid taper. I would discuss this only if you continue with diarrhea and symptoms.

We have many active members some just finishing medications, recent FMT's and those dealing with a Post IBS which can appear to be CDIFF but it's IBS.

There is a great deal of information under CDI, you can find Vancomycin tapers along with Dificid tapers you can discuss during your appointment.

Wishing you the Best with the ID Appt, keep us updated on how you do

Hi Dawn!

Just wondering how your visit to the ID doc went?

I suffered greatly with my encounter with C-diff. As you know the effects can be quite nasty and debilitating! After reading your story and about you suffering from devastating illnesses, my health problems seem minor. I guess everything is relative.

What is the status with your brain cancer. Were they able to completely rid you of this awful, nasty cancer? Were the paralyses the result of the brain surgery? Any chance of recovery?

I also had a round of Metronidazole but relapsed, then relapses twice after taking vancomycin. I was finally cured by a 10 day round of dificid, which is very expensive! I also took a bunch of probiotics especially saccharomyces boulardii during both the vancomycin and the dificid and I continue to take them to help against C-diff returning, or just to help my digestive system.

I wish you success with your fight against C-diff and with your recovery from your other health problems. May 2018 be a year of recovery, luck and happiness for you!

Regards and best wishes, Bob
