Have been on vancomycin taper for almost 2 weeks...I developed lower back pain and numbness in my right thigh about a week ago. Any connection?

Doubt if it's the vanco and it sounds like sciatica but check with your Dr.

Agree with Roy ,it does sound like sciatic pain , you should go see a neurologist.

Hi,
I hope you are feeling better. I am too on a vamcomycin taper. I developed right upper back pain, numbness or tingling in hands and feet. I would like to know if you felt better afterwards or you still have these issues? I would appreciate your reply

This post is from 2 years ago and I don't think you will get a reply. Tell your doctor about these symptoms. Flagyl can cause them, but I have not heard of vancomycin doing so.

Re: can vancomycin cause back pain and numbness in my leg
I had pain in my lower back that ran down the back of my left leg to my toes on Vanco. It felt very much like sciatica. I assumed it was most Likely inflammation and pressure due to the C Diff. I used a heating pad and it went away after five days. When I mentioned it to my doctor he said he hadn’t heard of it before but didn’t seem concerned.
