I was going once a day for a week after my last vance. Then last night at midnight I went a second time and at 2AM I messed my pants and had watery stool. At 8:30 am just brown water.
When you guys said stalls could be "all over the place" while in recovery...I assume you did not mean in my pants and on the floor, all over the place! :-)
Trying to have sense of humor but I am crying because I was due to resume my RA meds one week after my last vancomycin which would be around 4/14...and I am HURTING and need it...and now what appears to be a setback. I'm not happy with the possibility.
So seriously...does "all over the place" include watery D o® have I relapsed???

Pharmacy won't have meds till MONDAY! Fun weekend.
To be honest as of right now, it is NOT as bad as when I had it originally.

Re: Did I Relapse???
From what you described, does sound like a relapse - frequent watery D. I'm so sorry to hear this. Obviously this can also happen from food or a virus, but if things continue this way throughout the day today and tomorrow, it's most likely a relapse. Try to stay positive. I know this is very hard. I'm glad you can take your RA meds though so you don't have to deal with pain from that on top of this.
Hugs to you,
Lisa

If it gets worse over the weekend go to ER for meds.
If it gets better ask your Dr about still taking the vanco.

Re: Did I Relapse???
Good luck!
My first relapse was milder to.
In my case, 3 weeks after the relapse I was hurting too.
I was sure it was CDIFF. So, got tested. Had some D for 2 days.
But the test was negative and I got better.
It really does happen.
(I think I made the mistake of eating hot spicy food that hurt and triggered everything else).

Re: Did I Relapse???
Yes!
Healing starts when you finish meds.
Only then can the gut flora recover and beat back any remaining c.diff.
Its a race between the remaining good flora and c.diff to take up the space that flagyl created by killing the active c.diff along with some of the good flora.
If the good flora wins your cured.
If watery D 3+ times a day lasts more than 3 days it points toward c.diff winning.

Should I wait 3 days then and see if it remains watery or stops??? Well, I have no choice but to wait till Monday.

Re: Did I Relapse???
If it gets worse during those 3 days you should go to ER to start treatment.
The 3 day thing is what is suggested by us but its not a medical rule.
Its only a sensible guide that gives the gut a little time to recover naturaly before its blasted with another round of meds.

Re: Did I Relapse???
Well, i have no doubt now that it IS a relapse - though MUCH milder than my original c.diff.
I try to avoid ERs as they are hot beds of all kinds of infections like staph and c. diff.
And, since t's mild I think I can wait till Monday to start Vanco though I will ask pharmacy today, if I can take the script to another pharmacy and see if they have any vance.
UPDATE: So pharmacy that the doctor sent RX to won't have vance till Monday but I managed to find another area pharmacy that has it and got RX transferred there. Will have it today. And NO ER!!!
