Postby Tinkerbelle » Mon Jul 06, 2015 6:13 am

Has anyone experienced rectal pain or pressure/pain during and/after c-diff? This is beginning to scare me! Please share your personal experience!

Yes, I had this a lot. Dr. told me to take Advil or tylenol for it and it helped me. Check with your Dr. Everything is swollen and irritated down there so itwill take a while to calm down. Hope you feel better soon.

I've experienced this as well. We usually have more going on during treatment and healing than we usually do, so it makes sense to feel that way. My doctor told me it could possibly even be hemmorrhoids acting up because of all the "action" going on in that area. I usually use prepH cream or a suppository at night to help with those irritations. Also, the Tylenol and Advil are beneficial as well :) I hope one of these things work for you and you can start to see some relief soon!

Thank you so much. I do take Advil. It helps a little, but does not take it away completely. I did see my Gynecologist in March who did a rectal. He drained a cyst and said I had fissures. What scares me the most is that I had surgery for colon cancer in 2012 before the c-diff. I am cancer free but was concerned the c-diff could cause a recurrence of the cancer and that maybe it had spread to the rectal area. My gastroenterologist assured me that c-diff cannot cause cancer. That was a relief. However, the anal pain can be quite intense and can even wake me up in the middle of the night. It also causes pelvic pressure and discomfort in the vaginal area. Thanks again for your advise and kind concern! P.S. I am still taking Florastor 3 x per day!

Hi
I also had pain and a fissure which can be terribly painful. With your history although your GYN checked in March,do you have a colorectal MD you have seen in the past? I would contact them have have them take a look, there are medications they can give that will help with a fissure . It will also give you a clear idea of where it is. You didnt mention any bleeding which I had alot of during the time the fissure was active, it may be small now and it's best to check it now.
I hope you feel better soon

Thank you so much for your response. No ... I have no bleeding ... Just very uncomfortable and more annoying than anything else. I am seeing a colorectal specialist on July 15. Actually my GYN suggested I follow up with him because he would know how to help me get relief. Just want it over with! I have a life to live !!! Thanks again! Good to know I'm not alone!

Tinkerbelle, you could have proctitis which is inflammation. C Diff can cause it or just repeated episodes of diarrhea, according to my GI doctor.

Again ... Thank you all so much! This venue for c-diff patients has helped me deal so much better with my concerns. I have read about proctitis on your posts. I believe it is what I am experiencing. I am seeing a specialist in 8 days. I will update you on the results of that visit.

This venue is AWESOME !!!
