I don't recall why they would test a sample that is not D, but it sounds like it should be negative if symptoms are nearly gone and you are doing better!
Hopefully you continue to improve!

keep in mind that the aim of treating c.diff is to resolve the symptoms, NOT to get a negative test.
If the test comes back positive but you dont have D an experianced Dr would consider that as "cured" and not treat.
Dont be surprised if the lab will not test normal solid stool.
That rule is there to protect you from being over treated (harmfull) by an inexperianced Dr.

Welp, docs office called yesterday, and said I'd have to submit new "sample" because
I'd not given enough poop to the lab....so okay, but then they called today and said
the lab could not test for c. diff, when the stool was formed that they needed a
" more liquid" sample....so unless the "D" comes back maybe I'm over the c. diff.????
Sure hope so, have had more solid, formed stools for 3 days now YES!!!!!

If you have solid stool you should not be testing! You have no symptoms of c diff!!!
Congrats...let your dr know you no longer have d, have had solid stool for 3 days and do not have to test.

Well the G.I. doc asked for the test, since I had not been "solid" for but one day, regardless
I'm happy and hopeful as heck!!!!

The lab has done its job and protected you from overtreating.
As for the Dr saying not enough, they need less than half a teaspoon full!

The only thing that matters is you dont have D, and that means right now theres no c.diff.
If D returns and does not resolve in a day or two you might have to test again but for now, with average luck, your well on the way to a full recovery.

I tested positive with stool that was not diarrhea but covered in mucus, and I was extremely I'll.

That caramel popcorn could definitely cause the loose bowel movements. Hope you’re still doing well.

I have continued to have solid b.m.'s and very happy right now...no more of the
"D" at all.....(cut out caramel popcorn) LOL.....my only issue now is, since I became
a hermit when all this started, I can't seem to get any initiative to go out shopping,
etc....oh well maybe it will come back soon....good luck to all who are still
suffering.....don
