I have tried some prebiotic capsules called NutraFlora that contain short chain fructooligosaccharides. The manufacturer says these don't encourage the growth of bad bacteria, only the good; but I've read conflicting opinions on this. Don't know if they helped any or not. What is the name of the prebiotic your GI recommended? I'll ask about it at my appointment tomorrow.

So sorry just saw this. I have a sick baby so been overwhelmed. Its called prebotin. I just got it so jury is still out :)

Prebiotics can make IBS and SIBO much worse, so if you try them, try a small quantity at first.

Oh i am ! Only taking about 1/3 of the reccomened amount trying to be very careful with my fragile system.
