Kefir

Postby cazza » Wed Mar 24, 2010 9:44 pm

Has anyone here tried kefir to help. I am thinking of trying this to see if it helps my stomach.

I am looking at going the natural route soon with a restrictive diet and vitamins to help me get over this.

I drank kefir daily all through my cdiff, and I like it so much that I still drink it. I also ate yogurt with active cultures and took 4 probiotics. Who knows if all of this made any difference, but I figured, can't hurt, might help. Good luck.

I drank Kefir throughout my bout with C Diff. I put it in Smoothies with a Banana, OJ, Stonyfield Strawberry Yogurt plus Probitics mixed all together. I have been C Diff free for 2 months now. Don't know if this made a difference because I also had 4 rounds of Vanco but I felt much stronger after I drank one of these and that was a good thing. Good luck and I hope you recover soon!

When I first got c diff and could still tolerate dairy, I tried kefir and it helped to soothe my stomach, however, I could only drink small amounts or it gave me D*.

cazza, I recovered from cdiff in June 2006, after having it for 8 months. Pulsing is what finally worked for me.

I make my own kefir, drink it daily along with yogurt.
You can usually find people to "share" their grains with you there is a online networking group that I found and got my grains from a lady in my area. Personally I think kefir has more benefits than yogurt.
