I think the infusion failed

Postby cazza » Tue Feb 16, 2010 11:42 pm

I am so scared. I had a fecal infusion last December and this last week have been feeling really unwell.

Very fatigued and the diarrhea has started today..

This really interferes with my quality of life

Hopefully just IBS as you body is still adjusting or a stomach flu, which is going around these parts.

Cazza,
I'm so sorry, hopefully it is just Ibs or maybe a virus of some kind.
Let us know how you're doing.

still feeling bad

Postby cazza » Mon Mar 01, 2010 9:46 pm

I am going to the loo now up to 20 times a day and am feeling really rotten.

I had an operation for endometriosis in January and was given antibiotics.
IV - not sure which ones and doxycycline.

Within 5 days of stopping the doxycycline my gut flared right up. The known fatigue, nausea, grumbling stomach then full on diarrhea.

For some reason local labs can never get a positive test from me but i know all too well this is cdiff again.

I only ever got a positive result from a colonoscopy.

I am going to talk to the place that did the infusion.

I have been dealing with this now for over two years. and i had so wished the latest infusion would be a bullet for it.

I'm so sorry Cazza. Maybe they will do another infusion for you at the center. I know how you feel. I was c diff free for 7 months after a colonoscopy transfer and then when I took antibiotics again (cipro) it came back worse than ever. Maybe they will agree to treat you again and this time you can stay off abs for a longer time.

Sorry to hear your news. The good thing is that it worked until you took the ABx so if you do the infusions again they should work for you.
