Females- Irregular Cycles?

Postby Suezer » Sat Apr 18, 2009 12:02 pm

I have to ask if anyone has had very irregular menstrual cycles with C Diff.
The first month things were right on, I have always been a 28 day person.
Last month it came 3 days early and now 18 days later here it is again.

What is going on, is this normal with C Diff or?
I woke up with all this cramping thinking It was C Diff acting up, only to find my cycle has started again 10 days early!
Hoping for a cure.

Suezer.
Check with your doctor.

See FAQ-Hormones.

When I had C. diff., I was entering menopause. I was so ill everything stopped - no period, no bleeding, no cramping, etc. The one adavantage of C. diff.!!!!

Thanks Bobbie,
would you recommend I speak to my PCP or the Dr. (Infectious Disease specialist) that is treating me now for C Diff?
Hoping for a cure.

Hi Sue,

Sorry to hear you are having such a awful problem! I would talk to either your PCP or you GYN Dr.

Try not to worry your body has been though a lot, it is probably nothing.

Let us know what you find out.

Agree with Heather. If you have a GYN, I'd talk to him/her. If not, talk to the doc. you see for Paps -- PCP if that is who you see. I'd also mention this to the ID who is treating you for C. diff.

C. diff. can take an awful toll on your body. Bet once you are better, everything else will be too.

Thanks I will give a call to the Drs. on Monday.
I have the worst luck, this occurred just in time for my 2nd phase of pulsing..

I wonder if the powers that be are testing my faith.
So basically been a wreck worrying about my immune system and every other imaginable thing..
Hoping for a cure.

Suezer,
Worrying typical of being a C. differ. If you were already a "worry wart" (I count myself as one) anyway, iit can drive you crazy.

Try to find something else to concentrate on. See FAQ for ways to survive C. diff.

You are young & (to my knowledge) otherwise healthy. You will beat this. Thinking of those who are elderly. very young, or who have other health problems will help put your problems in perspective. Do something you enjoy: read, exercise (if possible; good for your mind & body), go to movies, etc. It won't help you recover faster from C. diff. but it will help the recovery be less painful

forgot to mention in my last message to you that throught this c diff mess i too have been irregular. this was some months ago. i was getting my period very often, it was heavy and lasting a long time. i let it go and ignored it and it went back to normal. in addition i was VERY moody a couple of days before. really not like me. though things seem to have leveled off now my periods still are longer then they used to be. hmmmm....... why dont you give it a bit more time. see if this happens again next month. on the other hand it cant hurt to mention it to your doc on the next visit.

I haven't called any of my Doctors, I had also with this cycle very bad cramps(female kind) every day of it,even today.. where normally would only be the first day and a half.

I have wanted to call my ID a few times because on top of it,with this pulse of 1 every 3rd day things have been "iffy" and my colon aches most of the time now. I just have been toughing it out, hoping and praying it will all come out to a good recovery.

I will just wait all of it out. Thanks for the reply(s)!
Hoping for a cure.

I also had many problems with my period during c-diff and posted about it many times. My period was coming about every three weeks and lasting about 10 days and was very heavy and with clots. It was terrifying to me but the docs. did not seem alarmed and my gyn did not think it could be related(but I'm certain it was as I didn't have these problems before and I'm sure it in the least triggered something). My periods remained heavy after c-diff so I went on the pill and continue at this time. I'm actually noe scheduled to have my uterus removed this summer as the gyn thinks at my age it will continue to be a problem. I also spoke to a naturalpath about it and she said she sees client who have bad yeast problems with heavy periods and clotting but I guess they focus on the yeast thing often. I'm certain many of my IBS issues are related to the pill because the week I have my period my bowel issues are decreased and as soon as I go back on the pill it takes me a week to adjust. I wish the drs. would pay more attentionto the cause but mine seemed to think there was no connection.

i think

Postby monacat » Thu Apr 23, 2009 4:49 pm

i believe that it is totally connected. my periods used to be reliable. short and sweet and always around the same date each month. i have never had cramps nor have i been moody (if anything i felt happier during my period). this all changed when i was in the thick of this infection. i think it messed up my hormones big time. the diff, the vanco, i dont know. yea, someone needs to pay more attention to this that's for sure.

There has to be a connection, the clots..cramps, having this every 3 weeks is not normal for any of us. I was always..always 28 days on the mark. I can not go on the pill due to I am over 35 and I smoke, I tried it once in my early 20s and it made me so irritable I couldn't stand my own company, so I stopped taking it and never went back.
Hoping for a cure.

I'm also well over 35 so I'd rather not be on the pill for a long time(but I don't smoke). Birth control has changed significantly over the years and they have more to choose from. My daughter was terribly sick(bad headaches) and crampy with the first pill she tried but the second one they gave her she has had no negative symptioms.
