vaginal bacteria infection concerned about using vaginal gel

During a routine annual. The doc did a culture said I have a vaginal bacterial infection. She has prescribed Metronidazole vaginal gel to be used for 5 days. its flagyll actually . i gave her my concerns she said only 2% will get absorbed in the blood system. The pharmacists said the same thing. i am just scared about using anything. I know we cant give medical advise. But has anyone here been on the medication after having C diff? Its been 10 months c diff free. i know its the same as flagyl I am nor suer what to do.

I wouldn't worry about metronidazole because that's Flagyl and its used to treat c.diff.

Thanks to the both of you. I went ahead and used it for 5 days. The infectious disease DOC said no worrys it doesnt effect the gut. And like you said its Flagyll. My final day was yesterday. So far ok I took probiotics anways. Ever since C diff 10 months ago . I have been getting these. Not sure why 1 partner my husband of 26 years.
