Retesting for C diff

I was just curious if there was an amount of time that was best to wait after finishing meds before retesting. I am still have the cramping and the nausea and no D but the dr thought I should be retested just to make sure. That being said she is retesting me only 4 days after I stopped the meds. I have read alot of people waiting 10 days. Is this a standard to prevent false negatives? Thanks so much!
