MODERATORS' NOTE TO NEW POSTERS -- DON'T PANIC

Postby Bobbie » Sat May 05, 2007 12:50 pm

Again, a reminder. This is not a medical site. Don't panic (esp. if you are a "newby") about some statements on the site because, once again, they are opinions. Even docs. (& we are not docs.) in the same field rarely agree on anything.

There are many different forms of Clostridium. Some, I believe, are benign. (If you question this, do some research on your own as I am not an authority.) Only several strains cause C. diff.

Remember, approx. 80% of sufferers recover with one to two rounds of Flagyl or Vanco. The remaining 20% are the ones who post constantly on this site as they are desperate for info. Once again, the "odds" are in your favor. AND there are many new treatments being developed &, at last, a real interest in C. diff.

Consult your own doc. for medical advice, seek support from this site, and wash your hands. Hygiene is vital in controlling this disease.
