Was wondering if any one knows if taking rolaids or tums can do any harm while having c diff? I am 8 days off vanco, bathroom trips settling down but woke up this morning with indigestion and no appetite.

Some with C. diff. wind up with acid reflux/indigestion later. See FAQ-Acid Reflux for tips that help -- elevating bed. etc.
Some of us are on meds. that are controversial re. C. diff. I am on a PPI as are several others. Don't see why Tums or Rolaid wouldn't be OK but do doublecheck with doc. & pharmacist.

I tried Tums and Pepto both of which I was told were OK. I couldn't handle the Tums as they made my nausea worse which was one of my worst symptoms. I also took the Pepto which really didn't help either but everyone is different. One may work w/ you.
I'm now on a PPI which is the only thing that has given me any relief.
