Step one- get rid of gloves

Postby Lissaucd » Sat Feb 05, 2022 12:02 pm

Hello everyone,

Like I said in my prior post I’m ready to move on. Step one- I need to stop using gloves! Yes, As embarrassing as it is, I use gloves when taking a shower. I was afraid that a spore was going to linger especially after cleaning certain areas if you know what I mean! Or being possibly a carrier after and not knowing.

Tell me that I’m being silly for using gloves in the shower please! I’m realizing that much of my anxiety is caused by my little routines/ rituals- which I do to try and gain control over c diff coming back. Problem is, I can’t control it. Thanks again, I’m hoping this will also help someone else that may struggle like I do. Sometimes, having someone tell you “yes, you are being silly/wackadoodle- don’t use gloves, wash your hands and move on” is what we need to hear to move closer to the pre-diff days!!!

Fee Fi Fo Fum.
You don't need gloves to wash your bum!
Be them alive, or be them dead.
Those C.Diff worries are in your head.

LOVE that ROY, that's the BEST!

Gloves? Never used them. During the year I had CDIFF, I cleaned the bathroom with bleach, put a little in my laundry and those were the major precautions I took

I never used gloves unless using the bleach to clean.

Free yourself from the fear, it will weigh on you.

With homage to Roy:

To use a glove is what you love,
But go without has caused you doubt.
Fear not my friend, for towards that end
There is some hope - use some soap!

I too had to wean off gloves. My fear was passing C diff to my mom. My recommendation to add to Nanci's is to also use handcream. All the washing/ scrubbing tends to leave the hands dry.

You're heading in the right direction Lissaucd!

I love it Betsy!!!! Yes, that’s my fear - transmitting it to my elderly parents who I see everyday or my daughter/ husband! This is great- thanks again for the support!!!
