Should I worry about spreading C diff in a college dorm?

Postby adamvand » Thu Sep 24, 2020 11:49 pm

Recently I tested positive for C Diff and I live in a college dorms with a shared bathroom among my roommates, I do wipe the bathroom with a bleach solution, and I wanted to make sure that was enough.

I shared a bathroom with 6 people at work and no one got sick from me. My husband used my bathroom the whole time I had c diff and with relapses and he never got it either. Just make sure to wash your hands well. If you wipe the bathroom with a bleach solution, remember the toilet handle and sink faucets. Your roommates are exposed to c diff if they use public restrooms as well as other things.

Just to do doubly safe I wiped the light switch on the way out.
As Beth said if you do all those things you should be fine. Hand washing is key.
