Can Triclosan in toothpaste cause cdiff?

Postby poppy86 » Wed Sep 23, 2020 5:11 pm

After I was diagnosed with cdiff back in March, I tossed my old toothbrush and toothpaste and got a new tube of toothpaste from the closet. So I've been using it for months now, and today I happened to look at the ingredients, thinking it just contained fluoride (this is Colgate Total). But it turns out it also contains Triclosan! I know this is an antibacterial agent, so now I'm worried it could affect the gut flora. Does anyone have any information about this?
