IBS and soda/high fructose corn syrup
I finished my vanco taper 6 weeks and 5 days ago. Last night, I drank some ginger ale for the first time in four months, and it contained high fructose corn syrup. Soon after I drank it I had bloating, gas, and cramping, and then throughout this morning I've been having some very loose BMs, with some watery D. I'm definitely not going to drink soft drinks again any time soon. Is it common/normal to have a sensitivity to soda/carbonation/sugar/high fructose corn syrup with pi-ibs?

Anything high in sugar or syrup , sweetener etc will flare IBS.

Thanks Georgina, I will have to be more careful. I'll stick to just water.

Poppy86, Drinking water is the best thing you can do for yourself. Gets tedious but drink it in segments. 2 large glasses in the morning, afternoon, and early evening and taper to minimize nighttime bathroom visits.

Thanks Bobbie, water tends to be the only thing I drink. I'll try to increase my intake each day, I know I could use more.
