Question about cdiff test

Postby Sitedude » Thu Jul 09, 2020 12:21 pm

Roy don't kill me for posting thank you for putting up with me being annoying:)

The lab called with the c diff results and it was negative for a toxins.

They didn't run a/b

Is it safe to say if I was negative for a toxins I do not have c diff?

Thank you all for replying to my previous posts and helping me remain semi calm, my anxiety has been level 1000 lately. I went to the er a few says ago cause bleeding got worse and the er didn't run tests but said I had a golf ball sized hemm that may be the cause.

Love you all

Jeremy and family

Yes that's negative so 99.9% you dont have c.diff.
If the bloods fresh and red it's probably the hem.

Thanks for all your help with everything Roy I'm starting to think it must have been a bacterial infection and now I've got some post infectious ibs or something to that nature. The er doc did tell me that intestines take a while to recover after a sickness.

It was nice meeting and chatting with you these past few weeks

I had positive PCR results, but negative EIA for toxins for a long time and it was considered negative. There must be something going around because I have been having GI issues too. It started about 2 weeks ago, got better and then came back again. I'm sure stress is part of it for me and could be a contributing factor for you as well.

You might be right Beth. The only residual I have now is really bad bloating and a hint of m in my stool. Got the giardia result and it was negative waiting on the last result which should come later today. If it wasn't for the random stabbing pain gas bloating I'd feel okay

IBS can be really frightening and make you think you are relapsing. All those of us who have had it have gone through it. Try to follow the 3 days rule....And make sure you watch what you eat. As your dr told you, your gut has been through a lot and it takes some people a very long time to heal and eat as they were able to in the past.

Just pointing out that this posters tests were all negative for c.diff.
Our experiances about relapses and 3 day rule might not apply.
