Having a drink 5 months after FMT?
Hey! Does anyone know if having an alcoholic drink 5 months after FMT could cause me a relapse or something else? I haven’t had a drink for 8 months because of my c diff and would like to have one, but I’m just scared of having a relapse because of it or something else.

I'm no expert but I can't imagine having a drink would cause a relapse. It's a good question though. My guess is the only thing it MIGHT cause is a little bit of bowel upset as alcohol generally isnt recommended for anyone who has had an irritable bowel in the past.
32 y/o female. Got C. diff in Feb. 2020. Prescribed Flagyl (10 days), then Flagyl again (4 days), then Vanco (10 days), then Dificid (10 days), then Dificid again (10 days), then a Vanco taper (5 wks), then a Dificid taper (2 mths) and finally recovered.

I am not an expert either, but I read online that hard liquor can kill the good bacterias in your gut. I don't think that is the case with beer or little wine. you can find some info online, if you google " affect of Alcohol and good bacteria"

Probably ok in moderation but a wise person once told me "nobody gets sick from NOT drinking and nobody wakes up in the morning wishing they had a hangover!'

That’s true. I don’t have a necessity to drink, so why would I drink at all. I haven’t had a drink in 7-8 months due to this crap, but the further I go the more I realise it’s actually pointless to even have one even though I have been out the woods for many months right now.
