What is the status of the vaccine? it has been in the phase 3 trail since 2019 I think
anyone has any info?
Can we that are already infected take the vaccine to prevent future recurrences, when it is ready?

Status of C-Diff Vaccine
Male 54, contracted C-Diff on Feb 5, 2020, diagnosed on March 2nd, Took Flagyl for 8 days, Vanco for 10 days, relapsed 5 weeks post-Vanco. finished Dificid Taper on June 20 relapsed two weeks later, had the FMT on July 14th, 2020

I doubt if it will be widely available in our lifetime.
It's not a cure, it's a preventative so probably no use if you have already had the strain of c.diff it protects against.
Also it will only protect against the most virulent strains, not all the strains.

Roy, the phase 3 testing will be completed Dec 17, 2020. I assume they will start manufacturing right after that for general population, if test is successful

Definatley not!
IF a vaccine becomes available (and it's a very big IF as theres been loads of failures including severe damage and death caused by various trials) it will not be available for the general population.
It will initially be restricted to those most a risk such as elderly people being admitted to hospital for invasive surgery.
It's very unlikely to be a general vaccination during our lifetime.
