Hell,
I am male 54 and this my first time contracting C-Diff from community ( no antibiotics since 2016)
Finished my 10 days Vanco on Friday and hoping for the best but planning for worst. My GI doctor has been treating me so far but I don’t have a lot of faith in him, bc he first prescribed Flagyl instead of Vanco. And took him 5 weeks to diagnose me and figure out I had the CDI infection
I am in San Diego county and have been searching to find a good ID doctor with the experience with C -Diff patient. But the google and find doctor search result for C- Diff docs normally is none . What is the best way to search for such ID doctor and also a GI doc that have experience with FMT

I would call Scripps and UCSD. Now with the lock down in CA everything seems to be on hold, but I would check with them and any other big hospitals in your area. UCLA has a good specialist, but I doubt you want to travel to L.A. and now you really can't. So many doctors are not seeing patients here right now or just doing it by way of telescreen or phone. I don't know if they are seeing new patients. But, I would call and find out who the specialists are and try and set up an appointment.

Advice from ambulance paramedic I know is dont go to hospital for anything unless its life threatening.
No Drs in the UK will see patients face to face.
MOST people recover after 10 days of vanco but expect a few off days that certainly feel like your relapsing.

Ali-Mar,
There are numerous sites to check out doctors and dentists. I have the best luck with https://www.healthgrades.com/.
IDs seem to know the most about meds and GIs the GI tract. Some c differs use both an ID and a GI. You can't get too much knowledge or support.

Thanks Bobbie,
I have used healthgrade before before, it used to allow filtering for doctor based on the condition such as “C - Diff” . But it does not any more. So you don’t know if the ID doc listed there has any experience treading C-Diff or the GI dr has any experience with FMT

The problem with those sites are they tell you patients opinions of drs and their bedside manner but don’t really reflect the expertise of the dr. The best way to find out about a dr is from other drs or nurses if you have access to those professionals, else barring that, from someone who has been treated for that specific condition.
If you live close to a university hospital or a research hospital, they usually have drs with knowledge of the latest treatments in their specialty.

Found the answer to my question on Peggy Foundation website. You can search for ID and GI C -Diff specialist doctors in your states using this website
https://peggyfoundation.org/c-diff-101/in-your-state/
It is a very useful site - may thanks to this site and organization
