Feeling of anyways having to go

Postby TedGil » Fri Feb 08, 2019 1:17 pm

Hi everyone, just a quick question. Does anyone or did anyone ever have the feeling of always having to move a BM? or the feeling that all of it is not gone?

For the most part I am doing good, some PI-IBS still happening even after 30+ days but that is OK I know it takes a long time. But this one thing is bothering me tremendously. I don't think it is constipation because I have one good BM a day now and the feeling is there even after I go to bathroom.
Beginning to think it might be a hemorrhoid or something like that. In which case any suggestions on how to relieve the discomfort.

It's called tenesmus and I've had this too and honestly for me I think its mostly to do with severe anxiety.

If you don't suffer from anxiety, then it's likely a legitimate thing for you -- but for me and my bad anxiety, I spend so much time dwelling on the problem and the "feeling" I have in my colon/rectum area that I actually start to make it fatigued.

I figured this out after I ended up spending over an hour very occupied on something else and randomly noticing that the tenesmus had faded greatly.

I have heard of other people with c diff having this and having it during recovery too. Likely due to an inflamed rectum.

Hems can cause the feeling too. If you're at all flexible, get a mirror and set it on the floor and hunch over it with a light and check out your anus and see if you have hems (yeah, gross, but at least you get to take a look at whats going on :P). If it is hems, very warm sitz bath is really good.

Thank you Schism, you are probably correct. I am somewhat OCD by nature so I am also probably dwelling on it to much.

Funny thing is I notice it more when my bladder is full and when it is empty it fades so the inflamed rectum makes sense.

Anyways, I will try and ignore it and hope it fades away once things start to heal more.

I have that too on a full bladder. If it persists you can go and see a colon and rectal specialist (formerly called proctologist) and he or she can take a look to see if you have hemms, inflammation, etc.

It can also be spasms caused by the PI IBS. If it continues talk to your GI and describe the feeling and ask for his opinion. If he thinks that is the cause there are several antispasmodic meds that can be prescribed.

Continuing on Ril's post, the feeling of incomplete evacuation is a key symptom of IBS.

For me nothing helped with that "always having to go" feeling , i mostly have that in the morning and it just goes away on it's own after a few hours.

Georgina, I saw a post where you took MegaSporeBiotics. Did you have any issues with them? I read some conflicting reports which is scaring me a little. I only took them for 2 weeks.

I had to take the lowest dose , 1 pill per day because at 2 pills i would get gassy , but they helped me tolerate more food.
