Zoloft

Postby Trpro » Mon Mar 05, 2018 10:49 am

Hi! I’m still experiencing diarrhea 3 times a day after my bout with c.diff. The dr re-tested me 3 weeks after the last treatment pill and I’m negative. I’m concerned because I’m on Zoloft and I know that Zoloft’s common side effect is diarrhea. I’ve always been IBS-C and I'm wondering if the c.diff could have changed my ability to handle it. I’ve been on it for 11 months with my last dosage increase 7 months before the diarrhea started.
Any insights?

Zoloft is commonly known to give D . Go back to your specialist and ask to be switched to another SSRI , there are plenty other SSRI's that will not bother your digestive system.

Having tried a number of the SSRIs some years ago, my own experience was that GI side-effects occurred with most of them. In fact, GI side-effects are common with the SSRIs. That said, this doesn't mean there's not an SSRI that you might take without GI side-effects.
