You need to test for relapse.

Re-test, but also test for other pathogens. Ask for a culture as well as a c diff test.

I have left my new primary 3 messages now requesting an appt. (new insurance with new employer). I no longer have a PPO and can not just see my GI whenever. I have to see my primary first for testing and then can be referred to my GI again.
It is extremely frustrating. I only ate 2 pieces of plain toast today and doing OK. As long as I do not eat and only drink water I am OK. As soon as I eat anything my stomach freaks out. I figure if it were a relapse, or new infection of some sort that it wouldn't stop. (c diff and Norwalk both didn't stop despite not eating/drinking).
I am just exhausted. I suppose I am getting pretty depressed this week. Feeling like my quality of life is nonexistent when all I have is sleepless nights/pain/not being able to eat.
And just my luck... I also need to have a referral from my primary to see a therapist using my insurance as well.....
go figure.

Ok so I'm now 3 full days on levsin.. I want to say that I am feeling better but I am not sure if I just want this to work. Still having 4-7 bms a day with lots of M. Consistency varies.. some formed some soft. Pain seems like less.. but I am also eating less and only eating plain toast and bananas and rice.
Urgency seems to be getting better I think. I hope this really starts turning around.

I have a new insurance.. a HMO. I called my assigned doctor only for them to tell me they are not accepting patients under 65.... Call my IPA and told they can't help me and I need to call the health plan. Call the health plan... they direct me back to the IPA. No one seems to know who can help me and I'm still stuck without an appt with my primary.

Hi, I am sorry to hear on top of everything you are in that type of predicament with accessing care. Sometimes I don't know if I have PTSD from having C Diff or from my experience of utter and complete incompetent medical care I received while having it. I used to believe that in this day and age if anything bad happened to me with my health I would be promptly and efficiently saved by modern medicine. Obviously, I was delusionally naive and entirely uninformed. ... Levsin helps a lot with cramping. I would say that is it's best effect. I think you really need a GI specialist to determine what is happening with you. For example, do you have IBS or an inflammatory/colitis condition causing your symptoms. Just be as demanding as you can with your new insurance carrier. They have legal obligations to provide you with access to care for your payment of the premium.

Afraid I have little confidence in modern medicine - with a few exceptions. Sometimes we have to,
exist day by day - or hour by hour. Not a fun way to live.

On the other hand. I am sure I would have died years ago without medical care. I am now in that fun age callled "The elderly."
Am almost 76 and had c diff off and on since 1993 usually associated with antibiotics - which I agree to take as seldom as possible.

Keeping busy helps me. I went to Jazzercise today and exercised for 60 min. Felt better afterwards.

You should get tested for Cdiff and other pathogens , your symptoms seem pretty nasty to deal with , going to the loo 4-7 times per day is not ok , glad the pain subsided though.

Thanks Georgina. I'm glad the pain lessened too. I only get some with gas. Which is a whole other issue.. for some reason I can't seem to pass wind without mucus. It's quite annoying since I can't trust my gas now and have to wear a depends to work.
It blows my mind that this is my life at 29. Wearing diapers and barely eating. I've pretty much lost all that I can without going into an unsafe weight. I'm 5'7" and 115 now. Typically a healthy 130.
Anyway, I have to call my IPA today now that the weekend is over to try to get someone to help me. If not a primary then an approval for my GI.

I don't possibly think this could be a relapse since the symptoms keep changing back and forth and there has been little to no urgency after taking levsin. But I am starting to worry about another underlying issue as mentioned before (colitis etc) and will report back if I can get an appt to be seen!

Sorry for what you are going trough , agree , at the age of 29 you should enjoy life , have fun , not wearing depends. Unfortunately I can relate to that tremendous frustration as for me all my health problems started also when I was 29 years old :(.
Have you submitted your stool samples? If your tests are negative for Cdiff and other pathogens you should probably ask to be checked for mucous colitis. One of our mods developed mucous colitis after Cdiff and what helped her to control the mucous was a fiber supplement.

I had micro colitis. Lost 15 lbs. Eventually did home FMTs. Ick, ick. Fiber did help and I have been on it since. Benefiber seems to be the most tolerable. Check with your doc. Re this as sometimes fiber can aggravate your symptoms. C diff is a "try it and see" disease.

I so know how you feel but you have lots of people on this site who understand. Small consolation when you are miserable. I still use a heating pad every night. Are you using one?

I don't use a heating pad. Haven't tried it but sounds like a good idea. I finally got a doc to accept me but can't get an appt until 10/3..... so I have to wait a while.
Meanwhile the levsin has helped with the pains. Taking about 3-4 Imodium a day and today had only 3 bms. Still eating plain toast boiled chicken and avocado. Today I had a sweet potato for dinner.
I keep praying every night for help. Help to get thru this. Help not to become a bitter woman. There is a lot going on. I wish I could have my health back.

I understand just how you feel because I feel the same way. Just take it one day at a time and keep calling the doctor's office to see if they get any cancellations.

We all would like our good health back but don't look back, Look ahead to regaining your health. You will but it will take patience and persistence.

C diff is one damnable bug.

A heating pad works great when you get cramps , I got one too , used it several times when I was having cramps and spasm and it got me relief. A cup of peppermint tea also helped settle down spasm in the gut.
