Stomach pain increasing on Vancomycin

Hi, all. I have a question I'm hoping you can help with. This is my fourth time getting c diff in a year (or it never fully went away). I'm starting the vanco taper again and I'm on day 6. The trips to the bathroom have decreased, but the pain in my abdomen has increased. I don't remember this happening last time. I have moderate tenderness to the left of my navel and all down the left side to my hip and it hurts worse when I press on it. I also can't eat or drink much at all without pain. Has anyone else experienced this? The uncertainty of this infection is driving me crazy and I'm not sure what's normal or not anymore! Any input is greatly appreciated.

I would definitely call your doctor and as, to be put on Dificid. You might want to ask for an appointment also, but I would definitely ask for Dificid.

Thank you so much for your reply. The only reason I didn't go on Dificid was because it's $4,000, but I have a discount pharmacy card now that may reduce the price. I will give it a shot. Thanks again.

Dificid is expensive but Merck company has a assistance program that can help you get it for a more affordable price.
