There is some thought that C. diff. is linked to the immune system. Many docs. think there is a relationship between the GI tract and general health. Some of us never had previous problems but now suffer from IBS, UTI's, frequent bouts of pneumonia, acid reflux, etc. since having C. diff.
Some C. diff. patients are given IVIG treatments to "boast" their immune systems. See the Lung Line at National Jewish Medical Center. http://www.nationaljewish.org/about/contact/lung-line. One of our posters is on the IVIG treatments. Can be very expensive.
